Designer Haider Ackermann unveils his sensual creations

Medellin (Colombia), Jul 24 (IANS/EFE): Colombian-born French designer Haider Ackermann used the Colombiamoda fashion event to unveil the first retrospective of his work in Latin America.

The show gave those in attendance Monday an opportunity to see the designer's sensual haute couture creatures.

Ackermann's show, with the mountains around the northwestern Colombian city of Medellin as a backdrop, used shadows to highlight the female form, creating a mystical atmosphere for those in the audience at Colombia's fashion week.

Ackermann, known as the "Prince of Fashion", was born in Colombia and adopted by a French couple.

The designer's creations have reflected his nomadic upbringing as his family spent time in Ethiopia, Chad, Algeria and the Netherlands, among other countries.

Ackermann released his first collection in 2002.
