Sai Kumar wants to continue 'Police Story' franchise

Chennai, Jul 29 (IANS): His unforgettable role as police officer Agni in Kannada action-drama "Police Story" catapulted him to star status, and now southern actor Sai Kumar Pudipeddi, is keen to begin work on the third part in the series.

"I've been thinking of starting work on 'Police Story 3', but nothing has materialised so far. It is one of the most popular films in my career, and I would be more than happy to continue working for it whenever possible," Sai Kumar told IANS.

In immensely popular 1996 "Police Story", Sai Kumar was lauded for his powerful performance of a police officer. The blockbuster film was later dubbed in Telugu, Tamil and even Hindi.

However, "Police Story 2", which released in 2007, garnered lukewarm response at the box office.

A popular actor in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil, Sai Kumar will soon introduce his son Aadi Pudipeddi in Kannada with the film "Nalugo Simham".

"The film will also feature my brother Ravi and Ayappa along with my son, while I will be producing it. We will start working on it as soon as Aadi finishes his current projects," he said.

Aadi, who has starred in Telugu films such as "Lovely" and "Sukumarudu", is currently busy shooting for Telugu action-drama "Rough".
