Abu Dhabi, Jan 30: It was on Friday, 27.01 the Mangalorean Catholics from Abu Dhabi had a joy ride at the Jumeirah Beach Park, Jumeirah, Dubai, while K.C.O. (Konkan Cultural Organization) Abu Dhabi had organized the annual family event.


Good number of crowd was out in the sun to enjoy a day full of fun and frolic, where a number of games, skits, housie housie, tug of war etc., was organized by the K.C.O., that was aptly witnessed by a numbers of passers by.


The active participation of Mangalorean Catholics from Abu Dhabi in such events over the last few years has put K.C.O. in the frontline to organize such events, where the community members opt for an outing from their routine busy schedules.


K. C.O. President Michael D’ Silva started the day with a welcome speech thereby handing over the responsibility to Vivek Serrao to conduct the day long events with the help of K.C.O. members.


Firstly it was forming ten teams with the team captains who named their teams Bhagyalaxmi, Achievers, Mangal Pandey’s etc. The warm up session started at 10:30hrs with the first warm up game “passing the rope” followed by many a number of games prior to a sumptuous lunch at 13:00hrs.


The afternoon session started with the teams enacting their chosen skits, followed by housie housie and finally tug of war for adults and children.

The teams Bhagyalaxmi & Achievers took away the prices for the best performers in all fields for the day, while separately formed individual winning teams took away the prices for the tug-of-war in both adult and children category. Overall this picnic was enjoyed & appreciated by all participants, while crediting K.C.O. for its continued efforts in organizing such events.


The outing concluded at 17:30hrs while it was time for all participants to return to their den.
