Udupi: Vehicles blessed in Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva

Udupi, Aug 8: On the occasion of the celebration of St Christopher’s feast, on Sunday, August 4, 2013, all the vehicles were blessed at Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva.

Catholic Sabha Shirva unit had organized the blessing of the vehicles. Blessing was conducted by the parish priest Fr Stany Tauro and asst. parish priest.

Over 200 vehicles were parked at the venue by the vehicle owners for blessing.

Catholic Sabha president Mathias Lobo, secretary Agnes Barboza, tresurer Montu Menezes, members  Leena Machado, Ida Lobo, Dennis Mathias and Michael Mathias assisted the priest in carrying out the blessing of all the vehicles.
                                                                                                                  
St Christopher is widely venerated as the patron of travelers. The vehicles are blessed on the celebration of his feast.
