Mangalore: Five candidates clear ICS qualifying examination

Mangalore, Aug 9: The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, London, announced the results of ICS Qualifying Exams for 2013 and Anoop K Purushothaman of Samsara Shipping, Mangalore, Manfred S Karkada of Aspinwall& Co. Ltd., Mangalore, captain Patrick Pais of OMC Shipping (pte) Ltd, captain Amar Mascarenhas of Dockendale Ship Management and captain Lasheer Balan of Mangalore have cleared all the seven papers.

Anoop Purushothaman of Samsara Shipping, Mangalore has bagged the Baltic Exchange Award for obtaining highest mark world over in Shipping Law.

Candidates from Mangalore had appeared for 32 papers and have successfully cleared 20 papers thus registering a pass percentage of 63% from Mangalore centre. The ICS Question papers are set and answer sheets are evaluated in London.

For the past five years, the KCCI has been a centre for the examinations.
