Bantwal: Bike rams into truck killing 28-year-old rider

Bantwal, Aug 9: A 28-year-old youth was killed in an accident that took place on National Highway 75 at Farangipet near here on Friday August 9 evening.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Mansoor Sakhafi, a resident of Belka near Konaje.

He was on his way to B C Road from Mangalore when his bike rammed into a truck carrying wooden logs in front of the fish market at Farangipet.

Mansoor was the khatib at mosque at Eshwarmangala near Puttur. He was travelling to his in-laws' house in Nandavar to bring his wife who had gone to her parental house for Eid.

As he reached Farangipet his bike rammed into the truck carrying wooden logs and he was thrown on to the road sustaining serious injuries. Though he was shifted to the hospital, he breathed his last on the way.

Bantal rural police have registered a case following a complaint in this regard by one Mohammad Rafique.
