M'lore: Big FM freedom express campaign held on Aug 15

Mangalore, Aug 17: BIG FM Freedom express campaign culminated at Bharath Mall. Women achievers who have contributed in various fields were recognized and were felicitated by BIG Fm.

Chitra Mitra, Captain Ganesh Karnik and Yathish Baikampady, CEO, Panambur Beach Authority were present.

Captain Ganesh Karnik speaking on the occasion said that BIG FM is doing a great job during the Independence day. He remembered the words of freedom fighters and gave his salutations to the great people who brought freedom to our country.  “Your freedom ends where my nose begins.” he added.

Lekshmi Kumaran, DGM, MRPL, Reshma G Ullal, reporter Janashri TV, Radhika, social worker and Shashikala, powerlifter were felicitated on the occasion. There were more than 500 people who celebrated the Independence Day along with BIG FM.

Lekshmi Kumaran said, “Women are being recognized for their efforts in various fields. And are now working and walking in par of men.” 

Chitramitra presented a caricature of RJ Errol to him on this occassion.

BIG FM decided to celebrate Independence in a very innovative manner by pledging to make Mangalore ‘Crime free Mangalore’. A cantor was touring the entire Mangalore appealing to people. There was an awareness programme to make Mangalore a crime free place. This is the first step of BIG FM towards a noble cause and people have shown great support.

The day’s event began by hoisting the flag at Bharath Mall. The on-air programme consisted of providing information about the national flag to the listeners from 8am to 3  pm. RJ Errol hosted the programme on-air and students, teachers and persons from different walks of life stressed the need to make Mangalore a peaceful place.

Dr Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala, City Municipal Commissioner Ajith Kumar and Telikeda Bolli fame Devdas Kapikad gave his best wishes and supported the noble cause.

Priya Jogi and VJ Hisrar compered the programme, vote of thanks was delivered by RJ Errol and the event was conducted by young budding enthusiasts of Hisrar Events, Aakrithi Digitals, and Zica Sports world.
