Udupi, Aug 24: Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities, Manipal University will conduct a workshop on science and religion on November 9, 10.The workshop is supported by Shree Narayana Mandira Samiti, Mumbai.
Some of the themes to be discussed are; Role of religion in the origin of modern science, emergence of science and religion as disciplinary fields, thought experiments in theology and science, and relationship between science, religion, and sexual diversity. The workshop will be conducted by the faculty of MCPH along with Professor Yiftach Fehige, University of Toronto.
Students pursuing PhD, MPhil or MA can take part in the workshop. People from other backgrounds who are interested can also take part.
Those who wish to take part should send their CVs with contact phone number, address. Reason for attending this course and how the themes are related to ones work or future interests should also be said. There is no course fee and the last date for applying is September 8, 2013.
The organizers will support the travel fare for the selected participants (sleeper class train fare or equivalent bus fare). Room accommodation would be provided free of cost at Manipal University from November 8 to 10.
