Kundapur, Aug 24: The CPIM unit in Kundapur protested near Shastri circle against recent hike in bus fares.

The protest, held on Friday August 23, condemned the unscientific manner in which the bus fares are increased.

District president K Shanker spoke criticizing and termed the unilateral hike in fares as high handedness of the bus owner’s association. He decried the way the fares are increased without consulting the district commissioner, public, associations, bus owners, student representatives and people’s representatives.

He said that the action of the bus owners is an insult to democracy. The action of the association of burdening the common man instead of protesting against the government which has increased the fuel prices should be condemned, he said. He demanded reinstatement of fares.

Mahabal Vadera Hobali, V Narasimha, H Narasimha, Venkatesh Koni, Suresh Kallagara among others were present.
