UAE to intensify anti-drug campaign



Abu Dhabi, Aug 25 (IANS/WAM):
UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed authorities to intensify efforts to create among school children awareness about the perils of drugs and drugs addiction.

Presiding over a recent meeting of the Higher Committee for Combating of Drugs, Sheikh Saif said all capabilities should be mobilised to confront and eliminate dangers posed by drugs.

During the meeting, the committee discussed a proposal to integrate different plans into a national strategic anti-drug plan. Also discussed were means to enhance preventive and curative methods for drug abuse and addiction.
