M'lore: Fr Muller Hospital organizes health care camp at St Joseph Church

Mangalore, Aug 27: “Health care is extremely important for healthy living. There are many people who cannot afford basic health care. This camp is a charity to the people where we are trying to promote health, prevent illnesses, and provide free treatment in order to have a healthy society, said Fr Nelson, parish priest, St Joseph Church.

He was speaking at the one-day health camp organized by Fr Muller Medical College Hospital, in association with Jeppu Catholic Sabha, Mangalore, on Sunday August 25, at St Joseph Church premises, Jeppu, Mangalore.

The health camp was organized with the objective of providing free medical examination in order to provide better health care to the marginalized sections of society. The health camp started with the inaugural function.

Fr Nelson, parish priest, St Joseph Church, Sr Silivia Fernandes, Superior, Infant Marry Convent, Michael D’Souza, president , Catholic Sabha, Pamela, vice-president, Catholic Sabha, and Dr Srinath M.K, assistant professor, department of dermatology, Fr Muller Medical College, were present for the programme. The programme was inaugurated by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

The health camp was divided into medicine, surgery, pediatrics, dermatology, ENT, and ophthalmology departments where the volunteer doctors were from Fr Muller Medical College Hospital gave initial health care to the patients. 

The patients who require higher medical care were referred to Fr Muller College Hospital for the required health care and will be treated at a concessional price. A good number of people participated in the camp.
