Mangalore: Young journos awarded at Golden Insignia Awards

Mangalore, Aug 28: The Department of Mass Communication (MCMS), St Aloysius College Mangalore celebrated the ‘Third Annual Golden Insignia Awards’ on Tuesday at 3 pm August 27.

Guests were invited from leading media houses. P B Harish Rai from Vijayavani, Suresh Kumar from Coastal digest, Sanchia Nazaeth from Daijiworld, Nesara Kadanakuppe from Prajavani, Errol Gonsalves from Big FM, Kiran Shenoy from Radio Mirchi, Madhu Yernad from News Karnataka, Suresh Ira from Udayavani were the among the guests invited.

Fr Walter Andrade presided over the function. Ponnanna, student president was present on the occasion.

Golden Insignia Awards have been instituted to encourage budding journalism students who produce a weekly news bulletin in one of the leading news channel.

The awards were given to students in 8 categories and the winners are as follows:

Best Anchor Male: Varun Raj and Arun Lucas

Best Anchor Female: Jeena Elizabeth John

Best Camera Person: Jishnu Menon

Best Voice Over artist: Lavina

Best Feature: Abdul Rasheed

Best Episode: Vevozo Vero

Best Editor: Janet KG

Best Producer: Jishnu S Menon
