M'lore: Sri Krishna Janmashtami festival celebrated at ISKCON

Mangalore, Aug 29: Sri Krishna Janmashtami festival was celebrated under the aegis of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Arya Samaj Road, Mangalore Branch at Devadiga Samaj Bhavan, Mannagudda, here, on Wednesday August 28 with pomp, gaiety and fervour.

Minister for forest and environment Ramanatha Rai graced the occasion as chief guest and inaugurated the Harinama Japa reciting floor. 

The festival commenced with a Darshan Arati in the morning, Rajbhog Arati in the afternoon and Sandhya Arati in the evening and culminated with chanting of Bhajans, Keerthans, and Maha Mangala Arati of Lord Krishna.

Thousands of devotees attended the festival and offered their prayers and solicited the blessings of Lord Krishna and also accepted the Prasadam. 

The president of ISKCON Karunyasagar Das delivered a message of universal love, peace and harmony on this occasion.

The Bhagavath Geetha Reciting Competition winners were awarded with prizes.
