Mumbai, Sep 3: The empowerment of every community strengthens the nation. There lies a greater need to strengthen the community with unified efforts. Let us surge ahead as in building strong Thiya community although it’s insignificant in numbers. The community empowered educationally and culturally will be able to make its presence felt, said Chandrashekar R. Belchada, president of Thiya Samaj Mumbai.
Chandrashekar was speaking after inaugurating sixty-ninth annual general body meeting of Thiya Samaj Mumbai, held at Billawa Bhavan auditorium, Santacruz (East) here on Sunday September 1.
The Trustee past president Rohidas S Bangera, trustees Shankar C.Salian, honorary chief secretary Babu Ail, honorary treasurer Ramesh N. Ullal, east zone regional Committee president Appunji K. Bangera, west division women wing president Ujwala Chandrashekar, west zone regional Committee president Narayan K. Salian, west zone women wing president Chandra M Suvarna, youth wing former president Sachin T Ullal, Thiya Jyoti, monthly bulletin editor Sridar S Suvarna were present at the dais.
Gangadar Kallady symbolically inaugurated the programme by offering puja to Brahmashree Guru Narayan and Goddess Bhagavati on the occasion.
Sujata Babu Belchada appointed as internal auditor during the meeting.
Babu Ail, Sudhakar Ucchil, Ramesh N.Ullal, Timmappa Bangera, Harish Kundar, Krishna Billawa, Rajesh S.Suvarna, were appointed as executive Committee members.
The former president K.P.Arvind, former vice president U.K. Sudhakar Ucchil, east zone regional Committee former president Ravindra S Manjeshwar, former trustee Gopal Salian, Eshwar Belchada, Krishna N Ucchil, Vishwanat U K, Babu K Belchada, and others were present on the occasion.
Ashalata Ullal and group rendered the prayers. Babu Ail welcomed the gathering. Vishwanat U K proposed vote of thanks. Kala Sourabha music group led by Padmanabha Sasihitlu staged musical concert as part of entertainment programme.
