Mangalore, Feb 15: After Karavali Utsav it's time for Yanthra-2006. The venue where the annual Karavali Utsav takes place has now been taken over by Yanthra- 2006, a month-long industrial exhibition, jointly organised by the   District   Administration, District Industries Centre (DIC) and Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA).


The exhibition was inaugurated by Mangalore MP D V Sadananda Gowda on Tuesday February 14. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the number of people opting industries to agriculture is increasing. But getting a good market for the products has become a problem. He further urged the new government to take steps to provide good market for the small industries.


Stating that the growth of the industries was not as expected, he said and cited several reasons for the same which included lack of capital investment, failure to maintain quality, increasing competition and high cost of production.


The month-long exhibition cum sale will remain open between 3 pm and 8.30 pm.
