Courtesy visit to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi in Pune
Maharashtra governor S M Krishna last week met the doyen of Hindustani classical music Pandit Bhimsen Joshi at his residence at Navi Peth in Pune. Krishna is a keen follower of classical music and wanted to pay his respects to Pandit Joshi. The meeting lasted 15 minutes.

The governor has said that the relations between Karnataka and Maharashtra have always remained warm and cordial. He also remarked that Mysore-born India’s best-known cartoonist R.K.Laxman was by far the greatest contribution of Karnataka to Maharashtra. The governor was speaking at the inauguration of an exhibition of selected works of R.K.Laxman, ‘Laxman Rekha’ at the Symbiosis Institute of Management in Pune.
