Capital to host Women of India Leadership Summit

New Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS): A 'Women of India Leadership Summit', a solution-oriented initiative to equip urban women with practical advice on bringing about positive and concrete change, will be held here Oct 4-6.

To be held at the India Islamic Cultural Centre, the initiative is spearheaded by Divya Chandra. It will see key opinion leaders from various walks of life interacting with attendees, whose entry is by registration.

“This event gathers together in one place, the only people who can affect change in our country. Men and women, who are already trailblazers in the fields of finance, law, leadership, education, rights and personal transformation; who have through their own experience gathered tools, techniques and skills to make a mark in their spheres of influence," Chandra said in a statement.

She said the sessions at the summit will be "experiential and interactive".

The keynote speakers will include names like international author and speaker Christine Agro from New York, Indian actor-filmmaker Nandita Das, London-based barrister Camini Kumar and fashion designer Poonam Bhagat.

The event is an effort to address the attendees' professional as well as personal aspirations.

So, the organisers will incorporate topics concerning personal management, gender rights and financial literacy and social issues such as cultivating security and balance, inheritance rights, spousal support, marital status and dowry.

During the day, participants will attend interactive sessions with experts and in the evening, there will live entertainment in the form of musical performances and plays by talented artistes.
