Mumbai, Mar 3: At 1.45 am on Thursday, three drunkards and their high-pitched arguments brought Ghatkopar’s Rajawadi Hospital to its toes.

In a drama that lasted for an hour outside the casualty department, the men swore, argued and beat up each other before being dragged into the police station by fed-up constables.

They were protesting against their check-up for drinking.

A police constable, who held the three — Sachin Zitre (19), Subhash Haate (24), and Pappu Shaikh (21) – said that the men were a pain. “These cases are not unusual at night, but these men crossed their limits.”

Subhash shouted at the cops, “Bola na, koi medical checking nahin karega! Arre sirf beer hi to piya hai… daru thodi piya!” He then had a fistfight with his friend Sachin, before abusing each other.

A sozzled Sachin ordered a bemused medical officer, “Jaao pehle jaake us policewaale ka blood test karo, jisne humko jhaapad maarke yahaan leke aaya.”

After an hour of earsplitting arguments with the cops, the men were taken away forcefully to conduct tests. “Mere baap ne bhi mereko kabhi maara nahin, aur tum police dum dikhata hai mereko? Hum main se koi medical nahin karega mera zinda hote huye,” Sachin said.

Subhash warned the cops, “Mere papa ko sab bade judges ka pehchaan hai… tum sabko suspend kar dega.”

Pappu later confessed that both Sachin and Subhash had downed two beers each. Pappu said, “Hum log Laxmi Palace ladies bar gaye the.

Subhash and Sachin asked for a song, which they didn’t dance to. So they began fighting and were thrown out. That’s when the cops came and slapped us and brought us here.”
