CBI recovers Rs 25 crore from Hindalco office in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 17 (IANS): The CBI has recovered Rs.25 crore in cash from Aditya Birla group company's Hindalco office in Delhi as part of its investigations in the coal block allocation controversy, an official said Wednesday.

The money was recovered during searches carried out Tuesday after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case against industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla and former coal secretary P.C. Parakh on charges of criminal conspiracy and misuse of official position over alleged irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks.

"The CBI has recovered Rs.25 crore in cash from Hindalco office in Delhi. The amount has been handed over to the Income Tax department," CBI spokesperon Kanchan Prasad told IANS.

The CBI had booked Birla as a representative of Aditya Birla Group and his group company Hindalco, one of the biggest producers of primary aluminium in Asia.

The agency had registered a first information report (FIR) and conducted searches in Mumbai, Delhi, Secunderabad and Bhubaneswar.

Of all the blocks allocated, most of them are yet to start production. Some of them are yet to start initial ground work. So, there is no possibility of crime related to mining. Second, as it happended in the case of 2G, the allottee, has not sold the block to any third party. So, this possibility too is ruled out. The excess cash possibily is from other businesses. Businesses in India, know better than anyone how to evade taxes.

Nothing is going to happen to Mr Birla, because this is just a black mail.
Most businessmen are in favour of Modi as future PM of India, what the congress couldnt digest.
The congress want to creat fearpsychosis among businessmen just for election funds.
They realize that only money can buy votes for 2014.
