Mangalore, Mar 18: Karnataka BJP President-Designate D V Sadananda Gowda on Saturday said more impetus would be given to strengthening the party in the state at the grassroot level.
Addressing a press conference soon after his arrival from Delhi, he assured that internal differences in the party would be sorted out amicably through dialogue.
Gowda said the party had to be prepared to "face various challenges from different quarters since it is sharing power with the JDS".
"This is the first time that the party is sharing a government in the South and it is our duty to go hand-in-hand with our partners", he said.
Describing the naxalite problem as "one of the burning issues before the state", he said he would make efforts to bring the naxalites to the mainstream of the society.
Gowda said the party has to honour the promises made to the people at the time of elections.
He said that he would take on the mantle on March 25 in the presence of National BJP President Rajnath Singh and other leaders including Venkaiah Haidu and Ananth Kumar.
