MBTA launch new tennis academy in Pune

Pune, Oct 23 (IANS): Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academies (MBTA) Wednesday announced the launch of their latest academy at Megapolis, a township in Hinjewadi here.

It will be the 38th MBTA in India and the first full fledged tennis academy here, the other two being solely school programmes.

Programmes to be offered will include tennis training across various levels for children and adults, corporate packages as well as private lessons. The academy will also be conducting tennis clinics to increase awareness of the sport.

MBTA chief executive Gaurav Natekar, an Arjuna Award winner, said: "It gives me great pleasure to launch our 38th academy in my home city of Pune. This just goes to show that tennis has come a long way and a lot more people are interested in the sport."

MBTA was founded in 2006 by 12-time Grand Slam winner Mahesh Bhupathi with the objective of imparting professional, world-class training and specialised coaching to youngsters.
