Kinnigoli: Mar 24: A seminar on stress management was conducted by Dr P S Yadapadithaya, chairman, department of Commerce, Mangalore University, for the teaching and non-teaching staff of Pompei College on Thursday March 23.

The session dealt with positive and negative stress and focused on managing stress in one's life. Apart from managing personal stress, counselling students was also discussed at the seminar.

The five components, namely physical, mental, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being were analyzed as contributing to the total well-being of an individual. Dr Yadapadithaya also reminded the participants that 'all days are not Sundays' and 'you can't fool all people all the time'.

Quoting Dale Carnegie, he asked the participants to reflect on what is the worst thing likely to happen to them? He suggested, if inevitable, to gracefully accept it and then improve upon the worst.

The seminar was much appreciated as it encompassed vital topics like management of personal stress, hypertension, depression, diabetes, techniques of yoga, Pranayama, hydrotherapy and constructive time management.
