On Wednesday March 29 the general meeting of the city corporation was held at the council hall.  The meeting chaired by Mayor K Ashraf was adjourned without any fruitful discussion. The Mayor made a walkout after the opposition BJP tried to disrupt the proceedings for more than half hour.

Corporator Vishwanath entered the well of the house in protest against the mismanagement of water supply in the city. He raised the issue of pipelines being damaged due to the ADB projects undertaken in Nagori. He said that the ADB works have damaged the pipeline supplying water to the area. As a result, the drainage water is getting mixed with the drinking water leading to pollution.

A verbal duel took shape between the ruling and opposition led the members to rush to the well of the house and engage in shouting slogans against one another.

Once the house settled down, the Mayor returned the issue of eviction of petty shops was discussed. The mayor made his stand clear that petty shops will not be evicted until an alternate arrangement is made.
