Discover magic of storytelling with Kahaani festival


New Delhi, Nov 5 (IANS): Create, share your stories and explore various tools of story-telling with the second edition of Kahaani Festival which begins this month in New Delhi and Jaipur.

An initiative by Teamwork productions, in association with Pratham books, the festival is aimed at reviving the dying art of story-telling.

It will focus various forms like narration, writing, animation and traditional forms of illustration.

The event is scheduled for Nov 10 and 11 in the capital at Ojas Art, while Jaipur will open its gates to creativity Nov 15 and 16.

To inculcate the habit of story-telling among children, the stories will be told through puppetry, poetry, music, and written and oral traditions of various kinds.

"The festival will enchant and empower audiences of all ages as it explores a multitude of traditional and contemporary narratives from India and around the world," Sanjoy Roy of Teamwork production said Tuesday.

One would be able to hear interesting stories and witness puppetry magic from famous story-tellers, illustrators and performers across the globe.

Story-tellers like Anupa Lal, Prayag Shukla, Usha Venkataraman, Ankit Chadha, Ranjit Lal, Paro Anand, Subhadra Sen Gupta, Jeeva Raghunath and Cat Weatherill will participate in various sessions and workshops.
