Mangalore, Mar 31: Panambur DySP Mithra Heraje has been selected for the prestigious chief minister's gold medal for the year 2006.  The medal will be conferred on him during a ceremony to be held at Bangalore on April 2.

Mithra Heraje hails from Beltangady taluk.  After his joining the Karnataka police he has served as SI in Uppinangady, Kadri and Bajpe police stations.  He has also served as inspector at Bunder police station.

After his promotion, he has been serving as DySP of Panambur sub division.
