Karkala: Theft at jewellery workshop - Two more arrested

Karkala, Nov 11: In connection to the robbery of 1.4 kg of gold at Mahalaxmi gold workshop in September this year, two accused who were absconding were arrested by town police at a dhaba in Bijapur.

It may be recalled that on September 17 at around 9.30 pm, two robbers threw chili powder on jewellery workshop owner Ramachandra Anand Rao Mani (38) and fled from the spot with the gold.

Within hours of the incidentm Hiriadka police arrested prime accused Muniyalu Madhukar Achari. The vehicle used in the act and the loot were seized by the police.

Shahid from Kundapur and Chandrahaas from Karkala who were involved in the robbery were arrested the next day by the town police.

The police the absconding accused Mohan Sushanth from Ampaar and Prashanth on receiving information that they were working in a dhaba in Bijapur.
