Bangalore: KCWA, RT Nagar, holds first-ever sports meet

Bangalore, Nov 13: The Konkani Catholic Welfare Association of Bangalore’s RT Nagar held its first-ever sports meet at the Telecom Grounds of Kavalbyasandra on Sunday November 10.

Sqn Ldr R P Monteiro declared the meet open after the sports torch was carried by sports persons.

 

The day-long sports meet had various activities such as: Coloring, drawing and collage competition for tiny tots to college students; Individual sports events for individuals from LKG to senior citizens; couple events  for all married couples; group games like cricket for men and throw Ball game for ladies and also singing competition for all age groups besides spot games.

Edward D’Souza, President, welcomed the former presidents,  Sqn Ldr R P Monteiro, Peter Pinto,  E N  Shenoy and Judith D’Cunha. The meet started with an opening prayer by Judith D’Cunha.

In his welcome address, President Edward recalled the services and the contribution of all the former presidents to the association and thanked them. Further, he extended a warm welcome to all the members and their family.

All the winners were awarded with medals and trophies.

Wesley Fernandes and Carole Fernandes compered the programme and Lilly D’Souza proposed a vote of thanks.
