APNA - Aloysians and Partners in North America (www.apnanet.org), a non-profit organization newly established by the alumni and friends of St. Aloysius College, Mangalore, who are living in the U.S., has organized a gathering of Aloysians and their friends on Saturday, April 29th, 2006.
The event titled "APNAFEST'06" is going to be held at. St. Raphael's Church Auditorium in East Meadow, Long Island, a suburb of New York City and is expected to attract over 200 Aloysians, their friends and well-wishers of St. Aloysius College, Mangalore.
APNA's mission is to help networking among Aloysians and take an active partnership role in the growth of St. Aloysius College Mangalore and its outreach projects of setting up schools in rural Karnataka.
APNAFEST is an event that covers networking, cultural entertainment, dinner and dance, providing opportunity to Aloysians to meet old classmates and contemporaries from their high school and college years in Mangalore. It is expected to attract Aloysians, their close family and friends from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
The program is scheduled to start with light lunch at 1.00 p.m., followed by a cultural show at 4.00 p.m. The well choreographed cultural program features young professionally-trained artists presenting a taste of incredible India: traditional Kuchipudi and Kathakali
and modern Bollywood dances, followed by a short audio-visual presentation on young and modern faces of India! The guests especially children are encouraged to dress up in traditional Indian costumes and invited to participate in an Indian dress competition. There will be prizes awarded for the best dresses in various categories.
The very popular DJ Mike will perform starting 5.30 p.m.
APNFEST is meant to be fun for all ages young and old!
