Mumbai, Apr 25: Tenth anniversary of one of Mumbai's premeir associations 'Konkani Catholic Association' Nallasopara was celebrated in St Francis De Sales chool compound in Nallasopara East.

Dr Abraham Mathai of State Minority commission was the guest of honour.

While inagurating the decennial celebration, Dr Mathai said that "The role Christinan citizes in the field of social service is very important. Though we are a minority, we should feel oursevesf as majority and we should be role models to others. Christian community should involve in more social service in the coming days.." he said.


 

Lawrence D`Souza of Blue Star Elevators, Jagannath Rai of Vasai Taluk Hotel Association, Social activists Rikita Kasar, Rajiv G Patil, Salim Chepan, Fredy Mendonca, Police officer S Malgaonkar, Fr Timothy Raj, Fr Ivan, Fr Salvador and others were among the guests of honor.

An entertainment programme was organized by Benjamin Miranda and group. Konkani Musical concert and 'Konkani Utsav' were the hot favourite programmes well appreciated and enjoyed by everyone.


 

Earlier, Harry Cutinho, President of the association, a dynamic leader, social activists and popular figure among the community welcomed the gathering and briefed about the achievement of organization. He thanked all those who supported directly and indirectly towards the success of the organization.


Clement Lobo Nakre compered the event.

Vice president Gracy Pinto read out the report of the association. Treasurer Frank D`Souza and Alwyn D`Souza were present. Secretary Patrick Petas proposed a vote of thanks.
