Sourav Ganguly offered BJP ticket, yet to decide: Reports

Kolkata, Dec 14 (PTI): Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has been offered a ticket to contest the general elections next year by the BJP but is undecided on whether to accept the offer.

It is learnt that the offer has come from the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, who has promised to make the Bengal sports icon the sports minister in the Cabinet if the party comes to power.

"Yes, I've an offer. But I'm still undecided on what to do. I've been busy for last few days... I'll let you know soon," Ganguly was quoted as saying in a leading Bengali daily.

The speculation has been doing rounds after he met Varun Gandhi through a common friend in the capital in mid November.

Varun, the national general secretary of BJP, is also the observer for West Bengal.

In the Trinamool Congress-ruled Bengal with 42 seats, BJP has a solitary presence in Darjeeling.

Ganguly, however, could not be reached for a reaction to the report.

    Why did Rambo Modi don't offer the most experience Kirti Azad or Navjot Singh Sidhu same?

    As a citizens advice Dada should dedicate his rest of time in social issues in his own backward state.

    If Ganguly is given a choice of constituency where he can win, then only he will say yes.
    The States he might like are Gujarath, Madhyapradesh, Rajasthan or at least Karnataka where BJP is Strong.
    He is intelligent enough not to accept unrealistic options like West Bengal where he might become a 3rd or 4th place in losing his deposit & NAME.

    The whole nation as well as THE world knows rotten coffins money was pocketed by THE BJP/NDA.

    Clean chit was only given only due to kargil war.

    WHERE IS THE FURTHER INQUIRY ABOUT WHO POCKETED THE COFFINS MONEY?

    There were two types of fraud/corruption involved in the coffins.
    1) Coffins were purchased at the very, very higher rates.
    2) Commissions were also involved.

    In both the cases the BJP/NDA POCKETED THE MONEY.

    Did the CBI investigate further to know who pocketed the commission’s money???!!!

    Dear S.V. Pai, Are you also involved in coffin corruption case, if not why do you defend the corrupt rotten coffins.

    FURTHER MORE WHY THE BJP/RSS ORDERED COFFINS FROM U.S.A., THE PARTY WITH DIFFERENCE IS DHEISHBHAKTS GIVING LECTURES IN PARLIAMENT AND TO THE PEOPLE IN LEAFLETS TO USE ONLY DEISHIE GOODS. WHY THEY BROUGHT COFFINS FROM U.S.A.

    CBI chargesheeted kickback culprits who were only Army officer's post investigation ONLY,

    still, you say BJP/NDA pocketed kickbacks, then whats the meaning of CBI investigation?


    I don't think CBI will investigate this again just because people like you arent convinced!


    The reality is, nation has taken cognizance of this investigation as CBI is governed by Govt. of India and its report have big importance and value.


    after this, any BJP supporter will defend BJP on this. No BJP leader involved, no ghost of a chance BJP supporter involved.

    Jayarama...other than Congress where this thug called Azaruddin go? So better for him to join as another chor. Tendulkar is Rajya sabha member and you can find my comments at that time. So, better for you not to pass comments in air. Coming back to Ganguli, it's my personal opinion that he should not join BJP or Congress. Ganguli may have different opinion.     But whatever it is, assuming Namo does all the hard work and makes BJP win in center, his own party members will not make him PM. He barely knows any statesmanship and because of a lack of it, he has created so many internal enemies in his own party...In the end, toothless advani (wearing false teeth and dozing during meetings) will be made PM and his assistant will be Soosma savraj.
