People want our government in Delhi: Manish Sisodia

New Delhi, Dec 20 (IANS): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia Friday said the people of Delhi want them to form the new government in the national capital, but added that a final decision in this regard will be taken later.

"People of Delhi want AAP to form government," Sisodia, who won from the Patparganj constituency in the Delhi Assembly elections, said.

He, however, added that a final decision will be taken only after they evaluate the results of the opinion poll.

"We may form government... we may not form a government. It depends on the outcome of the opinion poll," said Sisodia.

A survey by ABP News-Nielsen has indicated that 80 percent of the voters in Delhi want AAP to from government.

On Congress' support to AAP, Sisodia said: "We did not ask them to extend support. It was their decision."

"They came to us and said they did not want a re-poll," he said.

Meanwhile, the Congress has accused AAP of running away from responsibility.

"AAP doesn't have a clear conscience and wants to shrug (off) responsibility," newly-appointed Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh said.

"AAP has come to power by saying bad things about us and by misleading people. They should check their language and not test our patience," he said.

AAP had launched a message campaign Tuesday evening to know if it should form a government after the Dec 4 elections resulted in a hung assembly.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the single largest party with 31 seats in the 70-member house, had declined to form a government. The AAP netted 28 seats and was invited, but it sought time to reply.

The Congress party was routed in Delhi elections, winning only eight seats, and offered outside support to the AAP.
