Mangalore, May 1: The Brahmakalashotsava ceremony of Shri Kadri Manjunatheshwara Temple got under way on the evening of Sunday, April 30.
The day was considered more auspicious because it was also the birthday of Lord Parshuram, as also the birthday of Basaveshwara.
Being a Sunday as well, the occasion attracted a massive crowd throughout the day and overnight.
The event was also marked by classical music concerts, yakshagana ballet etc., besides free lunch for the devotees.
While most of the important features have got over, two yagas are yet to be conducted.
The finale will be on May 5.
