Mumbai, May 2 (3-10 pm): About 18 persons were killed when a Thane Municipal Transport bus plunged into a creek at Kashimira in Thane district on Tuesday, police said.
Around 80 passengers were traveling in the bus at the time of the mishap. The injured have been admitted to the Bhagwati hospital in Borivali area.
The mishap occurred at 12:35 pm and efforts were on to save the persons trapped inside the bus, police said, adding, "The driver of the bus, which was on its way to Thane from Kashimira, apparently lost control of the vehicle while it was negotiating a turn on a bridge and fell into the creek."
