Kejriwal sends back cops sent to protect him

Ghaziabad, Dec 26 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal asked Uttar Pradesh policemen deployed at his housing apartment to go back as part of his refusal to accept security, an official said Thursday.

Four armed policemen had been sent to his residence at Girnar Apartment complex here Wednesday evening.

They remained outside the house the whole night but were sent back by Kejriwal Thursday morning. He told them that he did not want security from police.

"Kejriwal refused to take any security," Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh told IANS.

But the police will unveil security measures for Kejriwal, who will take oath as Delhi's chief minister Saturday.
