Private schools move court against nursery admission policy

New Delhi, Jan 3 (IANS): Private schools of the city Friday moved the Delhi High Court seeking quashing of the government notification on criteria for nursery admissions in the capital.

The plea filed by Action Committee of Unaided Private Schools challenged the Dec 18 notification of the lt.governor, claiming it was "absolutely illegal, arbitrary and without jurisdiction".

"The notification was issued in contravention and violation of the guidelines issued by the ministry of human resource development in November 2010 whereby complete autonomy was granted to private schools to frame their own policy for admission," said the petition.
