Attack shows BJP, Sangh Parivar's frustration: Bhushan

New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS): The attack on the Aam Aadmi Party office shows the frustration of the BJP and Sangh Parivar who feel threatened by the party's rise, AAP leader Prashant Bhushan said Wednesday.

"The attack on our office and its supporters shows the tremendous frustration of the BJP and the Sangh Parivar over the rise of the AAP," Bhushan told the media.

"The so-called nationalist party, the BJP, and its assorted organisations have resorted to violence and unleashed their goons on AAP and its supporters," he said.

"This shows the lumpenization of the BJP," Bhushan added.

The lawyer said the attackers had on a previous occasion too assaulted him in his Supreme Court chamber and that the Delhi Police had allowed them to go scot free.

Some 25 to 40 men waving flags and sticks barged into the Aam Aadmi Party office at Kaushambi, stoned and shattered glass windows, broke flower pots and abused AAP leaders, AAP leader Dilip Pandey told IANS.

The BJP sought to put the blame for the incident on Bhushan, whose comments suggesting a referendum on army deployment in the Kashmir Valley sparked a furore. Kejriwal distanced himself and the AAP from the statement.

Bhushan though said that he never said that Kashmir should be separated from India.

"There is no controversy on that I have already given my clarification," he said.

The BJP condemned the attack.

"We condemn the attack. No one has the right to take law in their hands," BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said. "But, we must not forget the comments Prashant Bhushan made. We condemn that as well," she added.
