Udupi, May 9: A young man feared to have been drowned on the Malpe beach while bathing on Monday, May 8 has not been traced until Tuesday afternoon, said the police.

The man, identified as Imran (20), had gone into the water and returned after some time. The second time around, he did not come up and is believed to have been drowned.

He hailed from Shimoga and worked as a chilli trader in Adiudupi.

The police, fire brigade and the public have been making every effort to trace his body, but of no avail until the last report was received.
