Chilly morning in Delhi, clear day ahead


New Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS): It was a chilly Saturday morning in Delhi with the minimum temperature settling a notch below average at 6.3 degrees Celsius. The Met Office has forecast a clear day ahead.

"The day will remain clear though moderate fog was witnessed in the morning," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

Fog enveloped the national capital in the morning, with visibility dropping to 400 metres at 8.30 a.m., the IMD official said.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 100 percent. "The day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 19 degrees Celsius," he added.

According to Northern Railway, at least 21 trains coming to Delhi were running behind the schedule.

Friday's maximum temperatures was recorded at 20.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below average, while the minimum temperature settled at 5 degrees Celsius, two notches below average for the season.
