Delhi sees chilly Saturday, similar weather Sunday


New Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS): Delhi experienced a chilly Saturday with the maximum temperature recorded at 18.3 degree Celsius, two notches below the season's average. The Met office has forecast similar weather Sunday.

Sunday will start with moderate fog in the morning but the sky will remain clear throughout the day, said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and the minimum temperature will hover around 19 degrees Celsius and 7 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature Saturday was recorded at 6.3 degrees Celsius, one notch below the average.

According to a statement by the Northern Railways, 22 trains were delayed and 40 trains were running late due to fog in some of the parts of northern India.

"Flights operated normally, as there was no cancellation or delays due to the Delhi weather", said a official statement from the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Friday's maximum temperatures was recorded at 20.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below average, while the minimum temperature settled at 5 degrees Celsius, two notches below average for the season.
