Ready for whatever Congress wants me to do: Rahul

New Delhi, Jan 14 (PTI): Ahead of the AICC meeting on Friday when he is expected to be named the Congress Prime Ministerial candidate, Rahul Gandhi today appeared ready to take up the responsibility.

"I am a sepoy of Congress.I will obey whatever order is given to me. I will do whatever Congress wants me to do... Decisions are taken in our party by senior leaders," he told Hindi daily 'Dainik Bhaskar' in an interview.

"Earlier also some decisions were taken...Power is poison ....does not mean that I am not keen to take responsibility. There is no word of reluctance in my life...Congress has never been specific. Whatever task the Congress wanted me to accomplish, I have done that," Gandhi said when asked whether he was ready to take up the post of Prime Minister and about perceptions of him being reluctant.

Gandhi's remarks at the party's Chintan Shivir in Jaipur in January last year that his mother Sonia Gandhi had told him that power is poison had led to speculation as well Opposition attack that the Congress Vice President was not willing to take up responsibility.

Explaining his remarks, he said, "Power is poison is an observation that when power comes, one should know how to deal with the associated dangers that come with it. This is it. Power is poison means use power for the welfare of people and do not use it to make oneself bigger or more powerful".

To a direct question on whether he will accept any such responsibility, Gandhi said, "None of my family members ever worked for the sake of power. Neither my father nor my grandmother."

Gandhi's father Rajiv Gandhi and grandmother Indira Gandhi were both Prime Ministers of the country.

"We are a democratic organisation. We have faith in democracy. The people of India will decide through their elected representatives, who will be the Prime Minister of the country. It is necessary for Congress to come to power in the interests of the nation and for that whatever responsibility the organisation has given me or will give me, I will carry out that with full dedication," he said.

Slamming the BJP for its "Congress-free India" pitch, he said, "BJP today wants a personality-oriented rule, which is not in the interests of the country. The country should not be governed according to thinking of a particular person and his ways. The future of 120 crore people can be shaped up and improved only by taking everybody along."

    Your knowledge too.
In my reply itself I clearly mentioned there is a caste system exists in Hinduism. I didn't deny this fact.Because of my good knowledge I have provided my response. May be you think you are more knowledgeable, that is upto you. Similarly, I have my own way of analysis & knowledge.

As per you there is no sub-casteisim in Christianity, then what we can say for these groups like RC, protestants, Syrians, etc.
Can you tell me if there is no discrimination in Christianity, then those who embraced/converted people why they are fighting for the status of "Dalit Christians", can't it be eradicated in your chirstanity as mentioned by you.

Preaching & practicing is entirely two different things.

    Have a good day

If you don't know don't expect me to educate you about it, but you seem to be making your own interpretations of this matter which you obviously don't understand and in the process might misguide others too who are not knowledgeable on this matter.

It is best not to comment when you are not properly informed on some matter lest you expose your ignorance. Alternatively, at least acknowledge that you don't know instead of foolishly challenging.

    Good day to you too.

Dear Rahul Baba, I think you are becoming good boy now-a- day since you know very well that in India crying baby may not be given milk all the time, some time they get beaten by same people too. Frankly speaking, you are not fit for PM right now. You may need some time to grow up. And finally, as you said, you need to occupy any post given by Party Chief (better you call Mummy) unfortunately not even Opposition Leader role this time

Dear Jossey, for your kind info, almost all South Indians like me too those who migrated to Mumbai, Bangalore or Delhi did work in the Hotel or Canteen and pursued their further study and become big shots now. So, don’t insult and underestimate the “Tea Selling Boys”, at least they did not sell entire India for their dynasty stake. Do you want to taste the Chai? Then better you travel in long route Indian Trains and early in the morning we can hear the sound of “Chai bolo Chai” and it is also true that early in the morning people always takes “Chai with toast” rather than opting for “Vodka or Wine with cake”

    Dear Mr. Rahul Gandhi:

Definitely you will become the Prime Minister of India, under any circumstances. Modi is barking people have rejected and he will never be seen after the election. He will go underground forever. Mr. Kejriwal may be a good person, but his experience will suffer in Delhi itself and it will be impossible to be a PM of India. In all Mr. Rahul Gandhi is an ideal person to rule India another 40 years. This will bring lot of peace in our nation and prosperity. Besides Mr. Manamohan Singh and Chdambaram will stand side by side to help him rule the great Nation of India. This is the result in 2014 LS election. For better and not for worse.

Dear Pastor Frank be frank when you write something. If NaMo is barking, then what about Gandhi Family and other Congress Leaders? Are they preaching phrases from any religious holy books? If Kejriwal’s experience is insufficient for PM post then do you think Rahul’s experience is far better than Kejriwal? By diving Nation, according to quota systems, do you think peace and prosperity will prevail in India? To safeguard the minority vote bank in India, do you know how much damage this Congiss Party did for the majority? Like you hate NaMo, we too hate this entire Congiss Party for the reasons everyone knows better!!! Today we are in a position to support BJP not because we love them, but simply because we hate Congiss Ideology

Agreed caste system is there in Hinduism. What about Christianity??? Roman catholics, Syrians, protestant, Pendicosts, etc.. are not sub caste system in Christianity???
Still also there is social discrimination among Christian sub caste. Can RC people will marry Syrian????
No religion is an exception to this. Every religion will have these type of sub-caste system & social discrimination.
Pointing to one religion shouldn't be the example.

Your knowledge is quite poor in this regard. There is absolutely no tradition of any kind of caste system discrimination in Christianity. I don't know from where you sourced wrong information.

Moreover, my earlier comments were on the original reasons for reservations in India. Your reply misses that point completely as you seem more eager on retaliating my comments instead of discussing about why reservations started in India.

    Dear Declan,
Why are you saying that Indian politics is dominated by Sangh supporters?
In the history of India, Sangh supported parties never got ruling majority, why?
It's only once, because of gentleman Vajapayee's clean and peaceful image,NDA got a majority.

However, this time we don't know. In the 2nd term, UPA governance was really bad in common man's perspective.
Some apolitical persons don't care, who is in the helm of affairs, as long as their life is peaceful and cost economy is in control.
So this time, the anti incumbency factor may tilt the balance in favor of NDA.
But at the same time, AAP is gaining popularity, so BJP, Congress and other smaller parties' votes are going to AAP.
It is very difficult to visualize the 2014 Lok Sabha Election results now.
Prospects of each parties are changing day by day!

For all those who support saffron party and oppose Congress, please remember the following.
Most of post Independence, Congress ruled and that is what the electorate wanted.
People gave the saffron party their chance, but they proved they are not worth it.
If congress again succeeds to rule without saffron parties and with the help of other like minded parties, please remember again that that is what the electorate want.
Congress is getting elected by Indians only and they are everybody like the majority, minority, rich, poor, businessmen, criminals, just like any other party getting votes Congress also gets votes.
Jai Congress. Lead the nation for 100 more years without corruption.

Ajith, it is obvious to all of us now that the DW forum on Indian politics is dominated by Sanghis/Sanghi supporters.

We don't want this country to be saffronised. If the Congress cannot stop Modi the even though I am a supporter of Congress's ideologies (barring the corruption) I don't mind if AAP will stop Modi. Prashant Bhushan of AAP has already described Modi as a communal fascist publicly on TV.

The problem is that AAP needs to contest LS polls all over India to have a good chance of keeping Modi out. Otherwise, they will just make Modi's chances better by cutting into the Congress votes like what happened in the Delhi assembly elections. Communal mentality people will never vote for AAP. They will always vote for the BJP.

India's masses are mostly uneducated or semi-educated and will dance to the tunes of the media who are now for reasons we can quite easily guess seems to be on a pro-Modi and anti-Congress campaign. However, lately the media (except Arnab) seem to have made Arvind Kejriwal their darling. I hope this continues till Modi is out of people's memories. Modi should lose at any cost !!!!!!!!!!!!

Law, Destroying Minorities, SC/ST and OBC citizens need not have to benefit from this country, and law Destroying other citizens also need not have to benefit from this country..

Citizens of the country Should never Benefit based on the Religion or Caste, they belong to... Similarly, Citizens of the country should not be Punished or treated based on the Caste or Religion they belong to..

Tell me why there is social discrimination among the Hindu castes even today ?

Tell me is it not true that one of the main reasons why religious conversions took place in the past was because people from the lower castes wanted to get freed from discrimination from the Hindu caste system ?

This reservation is a reaction to the Hindu tradition of the caste system because the caste system is discriminatory in nature.
