New Delhi, Jan 16 (Agencies) : A day before the All India Congress Committee (AICC) meeting, BJP leader Maneka Gandhi on Thursday hit out at nephew Rahul Gandhi saying he is no match for the NDA's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Talking to Headlines Today the BJP MP said nobody can save the Congress, be it the Congress vice-president, his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, mother and party chief Sonia Gandhi or any other leader.
"Nobody can save the Congress party...Rahul has been projected by the Congres for last 10 years, but Congress has not benefited from that. No matter you spend Rs.500 crore or Rs.5,000 crore on building his image, Congress would not benefit," Maneka said.
"The mother-son duo has been running the government for last 10 years, but what have they achieved? They are no more good people. Congress needs a total revamp. Congress should stop all scams and loot...No matter who the leader is of 40 thieves, it would not make any difference," she said.
"Congress has been speaking about glamour and craze of Priyanka Gandhi for 20 years but no craze or glamour can save the Congress," Maneka said.
Asked if Rahul could save the Congress if he is projected as its PM candidate against the BJP's Modi, the BJP leader said, "There is no competition at all. Obviously, Mr Modi. He has been running his state so well for 15 years...it's like comparing a lion to a bird."
