Three killed in firing incidents in Pakistan


Islamabad, Jan 16 (IANS): At least three people, including two policemen, were killed Thursday in separate incidents of firing in Karachi, Pakistan's largest city.

In the city's Shafiq Mor area, unknown armed men opened fire at a police mobile patrolling near the Taimuria police station, which killed two policemen, Javed and Asif, and injured two others, Dawn online reported.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Amir Farooqi, banned organisations were involved in the attacks targeting the police.

In another incident in Karsaz area, a man was killed when an unknown gunman riding a motorbike fired at a car.

Karachi is riddled with targeted killings, gang wars, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism.
