Three killed in Pakistan train blast


Islamabad, Jan 17 (IANS): At least three people were killed and 15 others injured in a blast Friday that hit a train in Pakistan's Rajanpur district, police said.

The Karachi-bound Khushhal Express was struck by an explosion on the railway tracks near UmerKot in Rajanpur district of Punjab, which resulted in the derailment of four coaches of the train, Dawn online reported.

Pakistan Railways General Manager for Operations Anjum Pervaiz confirmed that 15 people were injured in the incident.

Emergency and rescue teams rushed to the site and the victims were shifted to a nearby hospital.

Pakistan Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique sought a report on the incident.
