Kuwait, May 14: The decennial celebration of Fr Melvin D'Cunha's sacerdotal ordination was held in the Holy Family Cathedral recently.

The parish community of Abbassiya vado organized a memorable event at the United Indian school auditorium in honour of Fr Melvin D’Cunha. The function began with a candlelight procession by the tiny tots of the parish community.

Comperes Rony Fernandes, Suratkal and Gladys Noronha Pius Nagar welcomed the jubilariian and the dignitaries on the dais and greeted them with bouquets.

Rony Lobo made an invocation, which was followed by prayer dance. The traditional lamp was lit by everyone on the dais. The jubilarian then cut the cake.



A felicitation song composed by Gladys Noronha was sung by Rony D'Cunha and his group. Gladys also presented to Fr D'Cunha a painting with the lyrics of the song. Vincent Noronha and Lancy Mendonca gave felicitations. A gift was also presented to the jubilarian.





Songs by Rony D'Cunha, Jossy D'Cunha and Dilon Noronha entertained the audience with their songs. Dillon also presented her dance. A Baila dance choreographed by Kiren Fernandes drew special attention. Adrian Gomes provided the live music. DJ Ajith too made a mark.

While a souvenir each was given to all families, dinner was provided by Hot Breads, Shahi Tanndoori and M & M Confectionery.

Maxim D'Souza thanked everyone for the support. Lancy Mendonca, Rafael Quardros, Vincent Mendonca, Dennis Norornha, Rony D'Cunha, Jossy D'Cunha, Gladys Norornha, Rony Fernancdes, Paul Aranha, Kiran Fernandes, Adrien Gomes,  D J Ajith DJ, Jessy Mascarehnas and volunteers contributed to the success of the function.

l praises go to the organizers who were the key success behind this celebration.  The selfless efforts of day and night to organise this function are the real heroes are Gladys Noronha, Rony Fernandes, Vincent Noronha, John Tauro, Maxim D'Douza, Paul Noronha and Paul Aranha. 

A good number of community members attended the function.
