Tripura man held for fake passport racket


Agartala, Jan 18 (IANS): A man has been arrested for involvement in a fake passport racket, police said here Saturday.

"Maharashtra police arrested Mansoor Ahmed, 47, at the Mumbai airport Jan 5 with a fake passport while he was flying to Dubai. Ahmed told police that he is a Bangladeshi citizen and one Mushayed Ali, 49, in Agartala helped him to get the fake passport," a Tripura police spokesman said.

The spokesman said a team of Maharashtra police arrived here Friday and arrested Ali, who was subsequently presented before a court here for a transit remand.

The team left for Mumbai Saturday along with Mushayed Ali for further probe.
