Lucknow, Jan 23 (IANS): It was a clear and sunny Thursday here after a day of heavy rain, authorities said.
The Met Office said fog and rain are likely to subside and brighter days were in store for the residents.
Met Office director J.P. Gupta told IANS the weather would clear, but fog might return in some places by the weekend.
Rains and icy winds had brought down mercury in the state capital and many parts of western and eastern Uttar Pradesh Wednesday.
The maximum temperature here was 17.9 degrees Celsius - four notches below normal, while the minimum temperature was 11.7 degrees celsius - also four degrees above normal.
