New Delhi, Jan 23 (IANS): After days of rain, the national capital experienced a pleasant Thursday with the maximum temperature recorded at 20.1 degree Celsius, a notch below the season's average. Similar weather has been forecast for Friday.
The maximum and the minimum temperature Friday are likely to hover around 20 degrees and 10 degrees Celsius respectively.
"The day will start with moderate fog, which will get clear as the day progress and the weather throughout the day will be pleasant," said an official of the India Meteorological Department(IMD).
Thursday started with shallow fog in the morning but the sky cleared up during the day.
According to the Northern Railways, one train was canceled, 12 trains were rescheduled and 22 trains ran late due to the foggy weather in the northern states of the country.
However, flights operated without any delays or cancellations, said the spokesperson of Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The minimum temperature recorded was at 13.5 degrees Celsius, six notches above the season's average.
Wednesday's maximum temperature was 17.8 degrees Celsius - three notches above the season's average, and the minimum was 12 degrees Celsius - four notches above the season's average.
