Mysore, May 17: The season of transfers in the State has been the goldmine for those who want to make money. Transfers being done under instructions of MLAs and MLCs yield lot of income to those who involve in this business. Brokers and middlemen, close to Ministers and top officials play a major role in transfers.
According to rumours doing rounds in Vidhana Soudha, the following rates have been 'fixed for various categories of officials seeking transfers. The so-called guidelines formulated for 'transparent' transfers will be thrown into the dustbin if the following payments are made:
Police Inspectors: Rs. 5 lac
Tahasildars: Rs. 5 lac
ACPs: Rs. 8 lac
Deputy Directors: Rs. 6 lac
Doctors: Rs. 2 lac
Forest Officers: Rs. 2 to 5 lac
Teachers: Rs. 25,000
Nurses: Rs. 40,000.
It appears, nurses are richer than teachers as we go by the rates fixed for them.
How do you expect efficient and sincere service from those who seek postings on paying bribes? Not only those seeking transfers should pay bribe but also those who want to escape the transfer!
