Mangalore, May 21: [9-00 pm IST]: A befitting tribute to one of the greatest showmen of Konkani Mick Max was the “Ek Sanz Mick Maxiche Bangrale Podank” hosted by the diocesan Christian Life Community (CLC) Mangalore on the occasion of the twin jubilee year celebration at Town Hall on Sunday May 21.


"The Mick Max nite organized was a glittery show decked by old and new faces offering tribute to the legendary Konkani activist, gifted actor/playwright, musician, master comperer Michael Maxim D'Souza.



 


Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore who graced the occasion also picked the winners of the Bumper Prize offered by DCLC. Sr Doreen, superior general of Ursuline Franciscan Sisters (UFS), M P Noronha, advocate, Fr Fred Pereira, vicar general  were the chief guests on the occasion.

 

Along with the popular singers of Konkani, Konkani Sahitya Academy president and Mick Max's long-time associate in the musical field Eric Ozario and Joyce Ozario too joined their voices to the melodious compositions of Mick Max. 

 

Mick Max’s brother Walter who came out of a music hibernation cherished a sentimental number, while Eric recalled those glorious days of working with Mick Max and sang for him.


 

Along with the family of the late Mick Max, the Bishop and the dignitaries offered tribute to the legend of Konkani.

 


Miss Daijiworld 2005- Melita Pinto (Compere)

Melita Pinto compered the event and Joel Pereira provided accompaniment music to the nite.


 
 

Stephen Quadros Permude, diocesan CLC president and the office bearers of CLC were also present.
