Gas price hike from April 1, FIR unconstitutional, says Moily

New Delhi, Feb 14 (PTI): The Petroleum Minister Veerappa Moily said on Friday that there was no question of stalling gas price hike from April 1. He also said the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's FIR against him and others was unconstitutional.

Kejriwal had ordered registration of FIRs against Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani, Petroleum Minister M Veerappa Moily and former petroleum minister Murli Deora for conspiring to benefit RIL, leading to higher prices of natural gas.

Following his directive, the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi government registered FIRs against Ambani, Moily and Deora under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Former general manager of hydrocarbons, V K Sibal, and RIL had also been made accused in the case.

Hitting back, Moily had said that fixing of the prices of petroleum products was done as per expert advice. He also said that he took special interest in ensuring that CNG and PNG prices were reduced.

"I think I should sympathise with his ignorance. He should know how the government functions, how these things are done... You should know that I took special interest to ensure that CNG and PNG prices were reduced," Moily said.

The gas price hike is perfectly constitutional, you see, as all promises on the eve of elections are.But I can't still figure out what this HM Oily ministry is about. Some get subsidy rightfully, some don't. And the petroleum ministry is harping on COMPLAINTS on DBTL which leaves one perplexed whether one is Compliant or not.Confused, confounded is the common man.

The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition 2013 has come into force from 1st January 2014. The Mangalore Hassan LPG Pipe Line Project by HPCL is using govt. Machinery to acquire land forcibly, and that too paying only 10% of the Govt. value as compensation. Mr. Moily’s dept. cites Petroleum and Minerals, Pipelines Act, 1962 seeking for acquisition of right of user in land for laying pipelines. Why does not intervene and see that compensation is paid under the UPA’s new act. MRPL was his pet project. Yettinahole is his next project. Mr. Moily will go down in history, only time will tell for what he will be remembered.

Cost Audit will reveal the real cost of production & weird taxation system which taxes petroleum products on liter or kilo basis than percentage as the norm in other commodities at present.
All cooking gas is not produced from wells, but LPG is the outcome of cracking crude oil in refineries which produces many bye products as well. But cost is arrived as if only gas is produced from a barrel of crude or international market price, with assumed loss subsidized by government benefiting Oil companies rather than benefiting common man.
Oily Moily has once again proved he is Disaster causing Ecological Damage Minister of irreversible scale through record clearance of files to facilitate Industrialists in the name of development.
Gujarat CM track record is no different from present UPA as far as industrial friendly gestures at the cost of common agriculturists as exposed by several scams not investigated with no Lokayukta in that state till today!
Whoever comes to power only beneficiaries are Big Corporates. Aspirations of People are taken for a ride & is aired only on the eve of Elections.

Looking at the Industrialist Politicians nexus, to loot public, it seems nationalizing core sector is a better option.
BJP & Congress are collaborating to oppose Jan Lokpal bill tabled by AAP
And to carve out Telangana from A.P. The real picture is exposed.

Supply Bangladesh at $ 2.34 per MMBTU for 25 years and charging $ 4.2 for domestic consumers is itself a big let down, now they are seeking $ 8.4 per mmbtu, which is sedition. Come on guys wake up you will be crushed by the inflationary pressure that it exerts on all commodities. Can you allow 500% profiteering on domestically produced natural resource. Think

Oye Moilijee, forget about LP Gas or other form of Gas trouble. But did you hear what Kejriwal reveled recently. I thought MPs’ and MLA’s from our region at least are not corrupt, but now I bite my tongue hesitantly. Few CONgiss Leaders from Kar_Nataka always claimed and dancing on the road that Natural resources are looted by Reddy Brothers, but I still failed to understand what DKS, LAD Brothers and now Great Moily did in their life!!!
